The famous Masai Mara Game Reserve is known for it's density of animals including the Big Five and 453 species of birds. It is one of the most visited reserves in Africa. This National Reserve's plains are predominantly open savannah, interspersed with patches of Acacia woodland, and along the Mara River, riparian forest. Whilst game viewing is excellent in the Mara all year round, the most popular time to visit is in late July/August where, over one million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra migrate from the Serengeti. The dramatic river crossings are a gruesome spectacle of survival of the fittest. We will set up camp here for two nights. On day 7 we enjoy a full days game drive. We enjoy our last night and dinner around the campfire, listening to the sounds of the open bush. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Tour Rates (2007)
Tour fare pp Euro 520  Local payment pp $325  Single supplement Euro 80

What is the tour fare and local payment?
All WildLife Adventures tour pricing is made up of the tour fare and the local payment. The tour fare is payable prior to departure and the local payment will be collected by our guides in cash at the pre departure meeting. The local payment is also not a food kitty - it is simply part of the overall tour price.
The local payment is required to cover a wide variety of our on-tour expenses, which can include National Park entrance fees, excursions and activities, certain fresh foods, vehicle toll and entrance fees, as well as some accommodation costs whilst travelling throughout Africa. The local payment is the portion of the tour fare, which must be paid in cash to the WildLife Adventures tour leader. Why do we need to operate like this? Well in remoter areas, sometimes there just are no banks! and cash in a hard currency is the only way our guides can operate effectively. The majority of adventure tours in Africa operate using a similar cash local payment system.

What is the single supplement and who needs to pay this?
You need not be concerned if you are joining a trip alone - in fact many of our clients do. Accommodation is arranged on a twin share basis and your tour guide will allocate a room / tent with another group member of the same sex. If you do not wish to share, a single occupancy supplement is available on most tours.

Please understand that we can't always guarantee single travellers the opportunity to share. It all depends if we have other single traveller's that want to share. In this case, this single supplement will be applicable to you. If you are travelling on your own please ask for this information when booking. We will always do our very best to accommodate you!
