Days - Delta & Kruger NAWJ

NAWJ – 14-Day – Accommodated Delta & Kruger NP
Starting in the capital of Namibia,
Windhoek, this tour travels via the arid homeland of the bushman before you
reach the water-rich Okavango Delta. A scenic flight transports us to our base
where exploration is by mokoro and by foot. Chobe NP is sure to reward us with
generous sightings of African wildlife before we arrive at the spectacular -
Victoria Falls- The adventure capital of the world. We then continue to South
Africa to visit the best known conservation area in the world, Kruger National
Parks.
Day 1 Bushmen Tribe
Two per room B,L
Leaving Windhoek behind us we head towards the Botswana border. Here we have
the opportunity to interact with the local Bushmen community as well as other
activities.
Optional Activities: Bushman Walk.
Day 2/3/4 Botswana - Okavango Delta
Two per room B,L,D
We cross the border into Botswana and, after arriving in Maun, we board small
planes that transport us over the Delta to our destination. The flight is both
practical and scenic. During our three days in the Delta we will go on a nature
walk and a mokoro ride with the local people.
Day 5 Namibia – Caprivi National Park

We travel through the Caprivi National Park en route to our destination next
to the Zambezi River. We spend the night relaxing next to this mighty river.
Day 6 Botswana – Kasane - Chobe National Park

This afternoon is spent on boat cruise on the Chobe River watching the game
come down to the riverbank to drink. Viewing game from a boat is one of the
most successful ways to see the animals in their own environment.
Optional Activities: Chobe Game
Drive.
Day 7 Zimbabwe - Victoria Falls

Arriving early at our destination, we head off to visit the spectacular Victoria
Falls and experience the thundering sound of the mighty Zambezi. The popular
optional sunset cruise includes dinner and drinks.

Day 8 Victoria Falls
Two per room B
Most people will spend the day white water rafting, a not-to-be-missed experience
of a lifetime! Vic Falls offers many exciting alternatives.
Optional Activities: White Water Rafting, Bungee Jump, Elephant Excursion.
Day 9 Victoria Falls to Martinsdrift
Two per Room No Meals
Departure is at 6 am from Savanna Lodge. It is a long and uneventful drive through
Botswana to the border at Martinsdrift where we will spend the night.
Day 10 Martinsdrift to Johannesburg
Two to Four per room No Meals
Another 6 am departure will ensure that we cover the next 750 km and get to
Johannesburg as early as possible.
Day 11 Panorama Route

Leaving behind Johannesburg, the city of gold, we head through the province
of Mpumalanga. Blyde River Canyon and Bourke’s Luck Potholes will be some of
today’s highlights on the famous Panorama route. We overnight in a wildlife
concession area adjacent to Kruger Park. Tonight’s game drive allows us
our first opportunity to view the mysterious nocturnal creatures that inhabit
the African bushveld.
Day 12 Kruger National Park

We get up early and head off for a morning game walk before entering Kruger
NP. The next two days are spent exploring the southern part of this vast reserve
and we stand a good chance of sighting elephant, lion, rhino, leopard and buffalo
- Africa's famed “Big Five”.
Day 13 Kruger National Park
Two per Room B,L,D
Our game drives continue and an early start usually rewards us with some great
sightings. Keep your eyes open for the diverse bird life and the more elusive
animals. Tonight we stay in another delightful chalet.
Optional Activities: Night Game
Drive.
Day 14 Traditional Cultural Village
Own Arrangements B,L
We complete our Kruger Park experience with an early morning game drive before
heading back towards Johannesburg through the subtropical Lowveld and some breathtaking
vistas of the area. Along the way we will visit a cultural village where you
will have the chance to experience some local culture and buy local crafts
and curios.
