    ITINERARY

    DAY 1: Johannesburg to Maputo

    Please meet at 7.00am in the reception area of the Backpackers Ritz. An early morning transfer to the central bus station will be arranged, before depart Johannesburg for Maputo, an enchanting city of wide acacia lined avenues and tall buildings overlooking Maputo Bay and the Indian Ocean. The capital , Maputo is but 70 km from Mozambique's main trading partner South Africa. One of the city's more fascinating features is the remarkable wealth of architecture making it unique amongst Africa’s cities. You will be met in Maputo and transferred to your hotel for the night (D)

    DAY 2: Maputo to Ponta Malongane Bay

    Departing early morning we travel in past the Maputo Elephant Reserve to the beautiful bay of Ponta Malongane.  Your guide will prepare lunch while you organise afternoon activities or simply relax on the beach. (B; L; D)

    DAY 3-4: Ponta Malongane

    A nature lover's paradise – the giant bush baby, birds and a wide variety of flora and fauna are all there. Add to this 14  reefs close by with a stunning array of corals and tropical fish, whales , dolphins , manta rays, turtles  and a variety of other marine life and you truly have a divers dream.

    For non diver's snorkelling, fishing, swimming, walks along the deserted beach or simply relax and soak up the sun. (B; L; D)

    DAY 5: Maputo

    After an early morning dive, there is time for breakfast, before heading back to Maputo. An afternoon city tour takes in the highlights of this fascinating city and in the evening the nightlife beckons for the young at heart or for those less inclined one of the many restaurants for a taste of true Mozambican cuisine.     DAY 6:  Maputo to Johannesburg

    We board the early morning coach back to Johannesburg where our trip will end. Please advise if you require a transfer from the Central Johannesburg bus station.
